We meet Raspberry1508 in the forest. Together with her father and brother, they are hiding from the Morphonis. She has an 8 year old daughter who was born and raised in the forest, but now the morphonis are getting close to finding them. Raspberry1508 knows it’s only a matter of time before they are found. She arranges for her brother and daughter to hide with other refugees and sacrifice herself. When she wakes up at the MetaMorph Clinic she doesn’t know where she is.
Raspberry clearly rebels against the senior doctor who runs the clinic, and is subjected to peer pressure and brainwashing in order to accept treatment. Because of this the superior doctor goes to great lengths to crush Raspberry and force her to agree to the transformation. Raspberry becomes more and more frightened by what she experiences at the clinic, and tries to escape. But is discovered and punished.
Raspberry understands that her only chance of survival is to trick the doctor and nurses at the clinic into thinking that she has become compliant, and will willingly allow herself to be perfected. When Mango is taken to his last operation, Raspberry suspects that there are more dangerous things happening at the clinic. She tries to escape again. Will she be able to get out before it’s too late?
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Raspberry1508 is a thought-provoking indiefilm that delves into the depths of a near-future society overshadowed by the pursuit of perfection. Set in a world where The Perfect Human is hailed as the pinnacle of achievement, the film follows the courageous journey of a woman who dares to challenge the status quo and expose the sinister truth behind this facade.
I wanted to explore the profound themes of identity, freedom, and the consequences of blindly conforming to societal norms. Our protagonist, Raspberry1508, embarks on a harrowing quest to protect her loved ones and reclaim her own autonomy. Alongside her father, brother Olive and daughter Eve, they have sought refuge in the mysterious depths of the forest, far away from the scrutinizing eyes of an unforgiving society.
Kidnapped and subjected to a disturbing morphing process at Metamorph Clinic, she uncovers a hidden world of manipulation and deceit that challenges everything she thought she knew.
Raspberry1508 is a cinematic exploration of the blurred lines between humanity and perfection, as well as the dark consequences of striving for an unattainable ideal. Through arresting visuals, engaging storytelling, and compelling character development, we aim to bring to the forefront the timeless questions of personal freedom, ethical boundaries, and the true essence of individuality.
The film grapples with the idea that true perfection lies not in conformity, but in embracing our flaws, scars, and imperfections. It is a powerful reminder that the pursuit of excellence should never come at the cost of one’s authenticity and humanity.
With a talented cast and crew, we have sought to create a cinematic experience that challenges the viewer’s perception of what it means to be perfect. Through the visual style and atmospheric storytelling, we aim to immerse the audience into this dystopian world, provoking introspection and sparking discussions long after the credits roll.
Raspberry1508 is not just a sci-fi thriller; it is a cautionary tale, a reflection on our own society and the dangers of blindly conforming to societal expectations. It is an exploration of the indomitable human spirit, the resilience to fight for what is right, and the power of love and familial bonds.
We invite you to join us on this gripping journey as we peel back the layers of this dystopian world, to discover the truth that lies beneath the surface. Raspberry1508 challenges us to question the fabric of our own society and to embrace our own unique imperfections in a world that too often pursues an unattainable ideal.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Nadina Helen Bakos is a producer, scriptwriter, director, and photographer from Oslo, Norway.
Nadina comes from a family of farmers. As the oldest child she was expected to become a farmer like her ancestors. But when she bought her first plastic pocket camera at the age of twelve, she knew she would become a photographer. Her parents thought she was crazy.
